Watching these guys really makes me appreciate the Inside the NBA crew even more
exactly what I was thinking. They keep talking about "holding" him with the right hand, but he's barely even touching him. Like barely his fingertips are touching him, there is no pushing or holding. "holding" my ass, cmon man. clearly touched the ball first, that was a block. very close true, but a block

That is the problem in NBA, if the referees/officials made a miscall they are not punished, but when the players complains about the call, a technical will follow immediately. One sided๐ข

Yeah, but there was no whistle for a foul. This was different. I'm not sure why they were talking about his right hand. Like the guys said, they always subtly touched players like that when they played. 'Savy' as they say. It was the right call. There were many plays in the final seconds that had contact like that.
Should have been a no call in the first place. End of game with a clutch block. Thereโs dozens of instances with no calls with hands all over the body. His hand was barely on him when he started to go up. Landing space was clean cuz Lauri was jumping backwards out of bounds. If he was straight up or jumping forward K definitely would have been in his landing space. Let โem play

I actually agree with the "just let them play" mentality.
The problem I have with this is that once it is under review, you have to go by the book, or what is the point of a review?
This is, by the rules, a foul. I would have been fine with a no call, and would love to see them just let them play more, but why go through the charade of a review if you aren't strictly adhering to the rules?

This is a parallax situation. From one angle it looks like a foul, from another it looks like a clean block.

Looks like a few different fouls. Up top his hand hits his wrist or the mid section his hand on his hip or down low his feet going all into his landing space and not allowing him to land properly. Idk man the Jazz got hosed.

The way the ball is spinning sideways in the air tells me he got ball up top. If its just up top i think no foul, but it is close...
no it wasn't close. he held him with the right and and he stopped him from landing safely. there were at least two different fouls even if you ignore the left hand contact. this is just a bullshit call.

@@Rikuzki thats not a close out anyway. He switched onto him before he caught the ball. A close out is when you switch on to a guy after he gets the ball and you have to "close" the space between you two.

The rules are a lil different once you get your shot blocked, it becomes a loose ball at that point and some contact can be made to secure the ball.
It was a back step out of bounds. If he would have jumped straight up then that may have been the case.
They should have a legislative process where rules officials from around the world are allowed 10 minutes each to argue their point of view. Exactly what basketball needs.

Its not even about whether it was block or not. Durant has to give the shooter space to land, that alone was a foul. Durant jumped from the 3 point line and landed out of bounds with Markkanen.. The refs literally just wanted to go home.
